Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us at Pitches and Hoos on Friday night! We could not have asked for a better night, full of music, family, friends, and some exciting awards! We are so proud of the work everyone has put in over the years that led us to win three Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards on Friday:

It’s Here: Pitches and Hoos

Come out to McLeod Hall at 8pm on April 5th to hear the Sil’hooettes’ 2013 spring concert, Pitches and Hoos. We’ll be singing new songs from artists such as The Dixie Chicks, Ellie Goulding, James Morrison, and Fall Out Boy, as well as a few old favorites. Pitches and Hoos will be the final concert for our 4th years (Ari Moledina, Reva Geier, Stephanie Lee, and Ida Yonas) so give them some extra love as we bid them farewell and listen to their fantastic senior solos.

New Homers!

CONGRATULATIONS, Sara Russomanno and Nicole Coble! We are so excited to welcome you into the Sil family. We love you so much already!

Like to Sing?

Does the idea of singing at the White House, being on TV, and opening for artists such as Ben Folds and B.O.B. intrigue you? Are you a girl? If you answered yes to these questions, then come try out for The Virginia Sil’hooettes! 

Come prepared with a verse and chorus of a song that will show off the best of your vocal abilities (no Disney or Broadway, please). Auditions will be on Thursday, January 24th and Friday, January 25th from 11am-6pm at 27 West Lawn. Simply drop by, or email sils@virginia.edu to reserve a specific time slot.

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Time for the Virginia Gentlemen and the Virginia Sil’hooettes’ Holiday Concert!

Come out to McLeod Hall at 8PM on December 4th to see a special holiday a cappella performance from the VGs and the Sils!! We’ll be singing some old group favorites and a few new joint ventures, so we hope you’ll come and get in the holiday spirit with us! Tickets will be available online here and on the Lawn starting Tuesday, November 27th for $7. Half of all proceeds will go to The Haven, a Charlottesville community center for local homeless and low-income families. We can’t wait to see you there!!!
